Drill Space, Day 0365

Captain made a surprise visit to the workshop to ask Joseph about his flotilla. From what he’s described it sounds like a terrible place, but Joseph reflects upon it fondly. I wonder if he really understands what he’s describing.

Drecoria II, Day 0363

We arrived at Drecoria II station and went to visit the Sister’s office. We were told that a higher up would be on planet side so we made our way to the temple. Inside we met with High Brother Rogar. He informed us that to get any information spread it would have to go through the Incarnates which would roughly take about a month before the information would begin to spread (if they so choose to).

With the rest of our day free we purchased some bathing suits and headed to a nudist beach. There most of the crew, except John (thank you!), hung around on the beach drinking and playing around in the sand and water. As the sun began to set we loaded back up into the shuttle and returned to the ship.

Kairi's Clarification
  • Kairi called the Captain back into her quarters to clarify the paints on the walls and how they were part of her planet’s grieving process.
  • She appeared to be in a stabler mental state than a couple days ago.

Kairi Awakens
  • Kairi awoke and spoke with the Captain. He felt that the blood paintings on her walls, her self sedation, and her overall mental state had left her unsuitable for duty.

Drill Space, Day 0357

Drake asked me to check on Kairi. She was very unemotional, I think she activated her cyberwear. Her arms were bandaged like she had recently been bleeding but the injuries were healed. There was a drawing on the wall of planets being eaten by a giant bug, I think it was drawn in blood. Kairi asked for drugs to help her sleep, I thought it might be best so I got her some from the medical bay.

I didn’t really know what to say. I wonder if my family is still alive.

Shin, Day 0355

After one last review of the information we were giving to Mikoto we made our way planet side. As soon as we stepped out of the shuttle Hachiko was there to greet us. She lead us to a theatre. Once inside we were lead to Mikoto who took the file as well as asked for a verbal report. Things didn’t go as smoothly as planned given that Mikoto was away of the origins of the four-armed former, a detail we had agreed not to share. Drake made the request that “no assholes” be told about this. Mikoto told us she was going to have to inform the other kings, Darren Wilson (the asshole) included. Before we left I asked Mikoto what she was looking to do with this information realistically and she told us it was for self preservation as well as making a little money on the side.

We took a shuttle back up to the ship where we spent over an hour searching for bugs. Afterwards Captain called a crew meeting where we discussed the option of spreading the information to all the governments in the sector, undercutting Mikoto. Kairi proposed we approach Darren Wilson given his multi-system company that could potentially begin creating a resolution, an idea that the Captain disagreed with. I proposed that we try spreading the information via the Sisters given they are almost as wide spread as Glass Tech and would make sure it got to the general public.

While we discussed what course to take we were contacted by Mikoto who had grave news for Kairi, her planet had been exposed to the virus and destroyed over a year ago. She understandably did not take the news well.

Drecoria II Orbital Station, Day 0348

The trip to this system was stressful. We were trapped in drill space for three more days than it should have taken. After the first 24 hours over the Captain threatened to throw out all of our food in a couple days if the issue wasn’t resolved. I spoke with John and we decided that after he mentioned it again (sober) that until we left drill space locking the Captain out of the food storages was in our best option.

The stop at Drecoria II was quick. The ship was refueled and Joseph and I went onto the station to purchase scraps for future projects as well as about 100 credits worth of booze for the Captain. With that spent we left the station on our way to Shin.

Mehiri Planetside, Day 0341

We entered the quarantine zone. A fight ensued as we made our way to the hospital. Upon approaching the hospital we saw a wall of bodies built up around it and no formers within the immediate area. We were dropped off on the helicopter pad on the top of the hospital.

As we began our decent we noticed how unusually clean the stairwell was compared to other former sites we had been to before. We quickly learned the answer as soon as we hit the first door on the third level: the carnage was every where but the stairwell. We continued down avoiding the other levels out of concern of a former crawling about. However we were forced to cross through the lobby when we learned that the stairs leading to the basement had been packed tight with bodies.

While in the lobby I checked to see if I could grab the data we had been sent to collect but as I learned it would require a great deal of hacking. I grabbed a badge and we continued down to the basement via the service latter in the elevator. As we neared the bottom we spotted two formers standing at the bottom. [PC] took out one and the other one didn’t react. After a short conversation I jumped down to investigate the one left standing. As I was studying it I saw a bug crawl behind it’s iris and the Captain shot it. A regrettable action as it’s skull was cut into and a small horde of bugs fall out onto me. The Captain left some emergency grenades in the elevator just in case.

We made our way down the hall towards a lab. The Captain and I surveyed the room as per the norm as pointe and came face to face with a four-armed former who had been pursuing our shuttle on the way to the hospital. It paid us no mind and cautiously we all entered the room.

Arrive at Mehiri, Day 0340

Part of the crew flew down to planet in an attempt to meet with our contact. Our first outing ended up being a bust. While the rest of the crew waited in the shuttle, I went to touch base with the Sisters. On my way back I encountered Hachiko, our Banshee contact and brought her back to the shuttle. There they we informed of our mission as well as given an another contact, Huxtable, within the local government. We made our way to him and signed contracts for entering the quarantine zone. Once finished with that we returned to the Kestrel and plotted out course of action for the next day.

Arrive at the station for refueling. Not much more news than the last station. Stopped by our newly inquired secret base. It is in need of work but it has potential.
